Another aspect of providing
customer service
means having what homeowners need when they need it. We strive to
be a "one-stop-shopping" destination when it comes to gardening.
To supplement our
tremendous selection of trees and shrubs we also carry an incredible
variety of perennials as well as annuals. In the spring you can
find vegetable plants and seeds, culinary herbs, shrub and hybrid tea
roses, tropical flowering plants and bog plants. We carry gorgeous
flowering hanging baskets, bedding plants and everything in between.
To supplement our plant selection we also provide several outstanding
lines of pottery. You will find brightly colored glazed pottery as
well as fine Italian terra cotta and Mexican clay pottery. We also
carry wrought iron and stone garden ornaments, trellises and benches.
In stock year-round
are excellent fertilizers, animal deterrents and pest and weed controls,
both organic and synthetic. We supply bagged soils and composts as
well as bulk mulches and topsoil; in bulk we carry shredded hardwood
undyed, or dyed in brown and black. We also carry straw bales and
railroad ties.

 Trees
and Shrubs
We carry both B&B (bailed in burlap) and container-grown plants.
Much of our material comes from the surrounding region - from Tennessee,
North Carolina and especially from Virginia. You will find an
array of shade trees, evergreen trees and shrubs suitable for large and
small-scale privacy screens,
 ornamental flowing trees and shrubs a well
as groundcover shrubs and plants that perform well on slopes and banks.
We
have a tremendous selection of Japanese Maples, over 30 different
varieties, that are sure to grace any landscape. At Lacie’s you can
find anything from top-performing foundation shrubs to hard-to-find
native trees. Our supply of trees and shrubs come from top-quality
vendors such as
Saunders Brother's Nursery and
Monrovia Nursery,
just to name a few.

 Perennials and Roses – When it comes to perennials, there’s no better place to find what you
need than at Lacie’s. We boast an amazing selection of perennials to
suit every gardener’s needs. Shoppers can find all their favorites
easily lumped together in groupings such as “Sun Garden,” “Shade
Garden,” “Deer Resistant,” “Butterfly & Hummingbird Attracting,” among
others. We stock a wide variety of drought-tolerant perennials and
ornamental grasses as well as lush hostas and cheerful daylilies.
Because of our location in beautiful Southwest Virginia we are close to
our main supplier of perennials,
Riverbend Nursery.
Riverbend Nursery
has a reputation for growing high-quality, top-performing perennials.
All of their plants come with the “Big Tag™” that supplies gardeners
with the vital information they will need to achieve success with their
new garden additions. We also receive a great variety of high-quality
perennials from
Saunders Brother's Nursery.
If roses are what
you’re after, we carry a beautiful selection of Weeks’ Roses hybrid
teas, grandifloras, shrub roses, climbing roses and the popular Knock
Out™ Roses. Our roses arrive in the spring once the weather has warmed
up, usually late April.

Annuals & Seasonal Plants
– Some of our most treasured
plants are annuals, from impatiens and petunias to sunflowers and
marigolds. At Lacie’s we sell annuals throughout the growing season
beginning with pansies in the early spring. By May our greenhouse is
stuffed with a tremendous variety of beautiful hanging baskets as well
as smaller, individual pots for creating masterpieces at home.
 We carry
a fantastic selection of
Proven Winners® featured everywhere from
gardening magazines to
HGTV. All summer long we have beautiful
tropical plants in bloom that thrive in the heat of the season. In fall
we celebrate the harvest season with spring-blooming bulbs, gorgeous
mums, perfect pansies and bold cabbages and kale plants. We carry
annuals even through the Christmas season with poinsettias in an array
of festive holiday colors: reds, pinks and whites, to name a few. We
also carry Christmas trees and fresh handmade wreaths, as well as
paperwhites and amaryllis bulbs. There’s no better place to highlight
the season than at Lacie’s!

 Vegetables
& Seeds – No store-bought tomato can compete with the
flavor of a sun-ripened tomato
grown in your own
backyard. For our customers that enjoy growing their own vegetables and
flowers we offer a great selection of starter plants as well as
Renee’s Garden Seeds. We offer both F1 hybrid and heirloom
varieties of vegetables ranging from tomatoes and peppers to summer
squash and cucumbers. Renee’s Garden Seeds feature traditional
favorites of flowers, herbs and vegetables, as well as seed blends and
newer varieties that are sure to add some spunk to your garden. Her
website is full of information on all the seed offered, and she also has
two cookbooks out (also sold at Lacie’s) that feature delicious recipes
using the vegetables grown from her seed varieties. Listed by
vegetable, you can find savory dishes like Cheesy Chive Blossom Omelet,
hearty meals such as Chile-Corn Soup and something sweeter like Fresh

 Herbs
– Lacie’s carries a great assortment of herbs to satisfy
the needs of gardening chefs and landscapers alike! We cover all the
basics from basil to oregano, and supply a wide variety of
harder-to-find varieties as well.
Gilbertie’s Herbs are featured at
our garden center in the spring, boasting high-quality plants grown
organically and offering over 400 varieties of herbs! Gilbertie’s also
carries an assortment of heirloom vegetable plants featuring “Old-World”
varieties of tomatoes, eggplants and peppers.
For those interested
in gardening with herbs we carry a great selection of hardy herbs that
will thrive in our area. From lavender to catmint and creeping thyme,
we have what our customers need to turn their yards into beautiful
landscapes. Herbs in our area have proven to be great additions to
flower beds and borders as they are drought tolerant once established
and many customers have found them to be deer-resistant as well! Let us

 Wrought Iron –
 Looking to add a
bit of whimsy to your garden? Try wrought iron garden
ornaments! At Lacie’s you will find pieces such as traditional and
ornate styles of garden benches and trellises as well as cheerful
Mexican sun faces and other wall décor. We also offer adorable baskets
and stylish urns – just add coco-moss and flowers to create a stunning
focal point in your garden!
 Our stock changes with the seasons, so be
sure to stop in regularly to see what’s new. This fall we are featuring
festive pumpkins both painted and natural, as well as the nearly famous
“hokie bird,” a dapper, wrought iron turkey planter fitted with maroon
and orange ribbons – he’s ready for the garden,
front porch or tailgate!

 Cast Stone Statuary and
Fountains – Lacie’s is proud to supply our customers
with a selection of beautiful stone statuary from
Campania International. The high-quality of this statuary make it an
absolute “must-have” for any garden or patio. Pieces range from
priceless animal figures to beautifully crafted birdbaths, benches and
fountains. Their catalog,
available on their website, is filled with gorgeous statuary, glazed pottery

 Pottery
– Look no further for a top-notch selection of terra cotta and glazed
pottery! We carry a wonderful assortment of clay pottery from Mexican
clay to Italian terra cotta, as well as colorful glazed pottery. Glazed
pots range from bright, bold colors to beautiful patterns and drip-style
pieces. In addition to our glazed pottery we supply glazed birdbaths in
several different sizes and colors. We also carry a line of Mexican
ceramic pottery featuring beautiful planters as well as fun and funky

 Fertilizers
– Plants need more than just water, they need food too!
At Lacie’s we carry a hearty selection of fertilizers, organic and
synthetic, to nourish your plants throughout the growing season. Some
of our favorite fertilizers come from The
Espoma Company.
Featuring the highly popular fertilizer Hollytone®, Espoma offers a
choice selection of top-quality fertilizers and soil amendments to fit
an array of plants and landscape needs. In addition we carry
slow-release and water-soluble products from Miracle-Gro and Osmocote.

 Pest
and Weed Control – Lacie’s has a large assortment of
controls useful for repelling insects and animals, as well as products
to control disease and weeds in the yard. Our most popular control by
far is Repellex.™
For our customers, this deer repellent has proved to be the most
effective product available when used according to directions. We also
carry organic repellents for other critters, as well as repellent in
granular form. Our insecticides and fungicides are available both
synthetic and organic, and at various strengths to meet our customers’
needs. In addition to liquid controls we carry netting, harvest guards
and landscaping fabrics suitable to protect your garden from hungry
animals and pesky weeds!

& Accessories

Our garden center would not be complete without the high-quality tools
and supplies necessary for our customers’ landscape projects. From
Corona® tools to Dramm watering supplies, we carry a selection of
accessories sure to please  any gardener. The choices are endless, with
books on specific landscape and gardening topics, baskets and mosses for
interior
decorating, working gloves in sizes for women and men, as well as an
array of plant supports useful for staking perennials and vines. Stop

Soils and Compost
– Amending the soil of your garden beds is a great way to ensure the
success of your landscape plants and flowers. We sell a variety of
bagged soil amendments including top soil, organic mushroom compost and
clay cutter. Along with amendments we carry high-quality potting mixes
such as Sunshine® Mix and Proven Winners® potting soil, as well as
Miracle-Gro® potting soil with added fertilizer. For those customers
needing large quantities of top soil we do sell non-sifted soil in bulk
to be picked up by the truckload or delivered to the customers’ home.

 Mulches
– We offer a variety
of bulk mulches for our customers. Our bark mulch is shredded hardwood
and we sell both regular and dyed mulch; choose from black dyed or brown
dyed. We also carry bagged shredded hardwood mulch for those customers
who prefer it to bulk mulch. Landscaping river stone is sold in bulk at
Lacie’s as well, in three different sizes suitable for mulching. Mulch
and stone are offered for sale by the truckload as well as delivered.
